The DownUnder Virtual Crop

The inaugural CTMH Down Under Virtual Crop event commenced this evening. I'm a huge fan of the Virtual Crop concept - you can create at any time of the day and in any place - just you and your computer. However, you are not alone as you will be playing along with and being inspired by a group of like minded papercraft enthusiasts - and in this group we have over 2000 participants -  great FUN!

I have shared 2 challenges in this virtual crop event and if you would like to join in too be sure to check us out here. My scrapbook layout was inspired by the first 2 foundational patterns ( Title Topper & Bottom Border ) in  Jeanette Lynton’s Reflections Scrapbook Program. This is a “How-To Publication” available from Close To My Heart it does come in the  New Consultant Kit but can also be purchased from my online shop (Order No.9037). I combined these foundational ideas along with my own favourite sketch.
...and created this Heritage layout - loved distressing the edges of the decorative paper with a little Desert Sand Ink it gave the layout a real vintage look...

...and for those of you who love making home-made gifts, you can’t go past Close To My Heart’s   My Creations Kraft Container – (Order No. Z1833) – this chipboard cylinder can be decorated with a variety of goodies – it is even stampable... a touch of random stamping over the surface is the perfect technique to use or you might want to embellish it with papers, ribbon, bakers twine and more. This month with the purchase of $75 or more of Close To My Heart products you can receive the Stamp of the Month "A Chocolate Affair" for free and it is the ideal stamp set to use with this Kraft Container – use the images and sentiments to decorate your container – fill with chocolates, or hot chocolate sachets and you have your own unique one of a kind gift for any occasion. If you are attending any of the upcoming Create with Chris idea events over the next few months I will be demonstrating all the techniques used to create the stamped embellishment on this container and we will be making a cute little gift card that co-ordinates with this design - would love to see you there :)

New Beginnings

Yes, my Papercraft friends I am on the cusp of  new beginnings. I have been given the opportunity to join the wonderful community of Close To My Heart as they release their line of fabulous products into Australia. I am really looking forward to playing with this fun-filled range of goodies that encompasses everything I love about papercraft.....scrapbooking, stamping, colouring, cardmaking and off the page paper projects!! I have BiG plans to be back blogging with you every week with a preview of my latest "Creative Capers"  - so stay tuned - new creations and ideas to share with you very soon.

If you would like to join me in Melbourne on the 15th July for an evening of information, fun, and friendship - receive more than $15 in free products & create two 12" × 12" scrapbook pages using Close To My Heart products - please message me for details.

In the meantime, I thought you might like to a couple of my latest sketches to play with or even pop on over to the Virtual Crop Group on Facebook to take a tour of all the fun challenges and playtime offered there....or check out my Facebook page where I am having a little Card Sell-a-bration of all my past design team and workshop event cards - be sure to check back regularly as I post more cards into that album.

Easter Digi Treats

Happy Easter !! I hope you have enjoyed the weekend break with family and friends! It has been such a long time since I have updated my blog and I feel I am always apologising for how busy my life is. I have decided that I am one of those people who needs 48 hours in a day and then it still may not be enough....I'm sure many of you can relate to that too!? Apart from family commitments, I have been "busy" spending time in my "happy room" creating all sorts of cards, scrapbook layouts and other paper craft goodies, but unfortunately, many don't make it here because they are "secret" items for Idea Extravaganza events, Design Team projects etc....and I would hate spoiling the surprises for you. However, in light of the fact that it is Easter and this is my 100th post I thought I would celebrate by sharing some "freebie" digital templates and show you a little of what I have been doing.

These are part of the next installment of sketches that I will be presenting this year at the big Idea Extravaganza workshops - so a little preview for you to play with before I come visit your Town, City or State.

If you like to play with paper and stickers - these sketches are easy to follow and if you prefer digital you can find the download links here and here. ( and they will be available up until the 7th April ) I have noted that the digi templates have already been downloaded over 50 times each in such a very short space of time...which means you must like them - huh?? If you do use the sketches, I would appreciate you leaving me some "love" or share your page creations on my facebook page - an event has been created and there are some amazing versions of these sketches already being uploaded & shared - I would love to see yours too!

These are my examples, they both use the new baby digital kits released by Creative Memories "today" - enjoy!

Let's hope I can keep those promises of more regular blog posts and I am back before this month ends.
